About the Organisation

Destination NSW is a Public Service Executive agency with responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to grow the visitor economy. Our particular focus is on driving tourism and acquiring and developing major sporting and cultural events for Sydney and Regional NSW. In addition, Destination NSW is the major investor in Business Events Sydney with the aim to secure more international conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions for Sydney and Regional NSW.

About The Role

The Marketing Campaign Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of high profile marketing campaigns and projects that builds Sydney and NSW as Australia’s appeal as the premier tourism and major events destinations.

The Marketing Campaign Manager manages Destination NSW’s day to day relationships with creative and media agencies and partners to ensure marketing strategies are translated into effective campaigns. The role works with, and provides information and advice to the Industry Partnership teams and industry stakeholders on Destination NSW marketing strategies, programs and activities to facilitate and enable greater alignment between Destination NSW, industry stakeholders and commercial partnerships.

The Marketing Campaign Manager undertakes analysis of campaign activity across all elements and prepares reports on the results.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

Substantial experience in advertising in a client or advertising agency environment with extensive

experience in campaign management for high profile brands;

High degree of knowledge and experience across all forms of advertising production (such as

broadcast, print, digital and outdoor) and media planning and buying in both Australian and

overseas markets;

Experience in co-ordinating complex communications campaigns and media planning;

Through knowledge of the media buying process;

Thorough knowledge of the tourism industry and understanding and awareness of all elements of

the marketing mix;

Strong organisational and project management skills to deliver effective and timely marketing

campaigns against objective.

2. Outline how traditional advertising channels are evolving in the current media landscape and the potential implications for destination and events marketing.
